REQUIREMENTS : A relevant NQF Level six qualification in Internal Auditing, Computer Science or
equivalent. Three to five years auditing experience and performing in a
management position. Statutory Body Requirements: Institute of Internal Auditors
(IIA) or Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Knowledge:
Knowledge of Internal Audit Charter, Thorough knowledge of Treasury
Regulations, Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, General knowledge
of the Public Service Regulations, White paper on Public Service Management
and Budgeting Reforms, Knowledge of Labour Relation Act, Standards for
institute of Internal Auditors, Public Audit Act, King II Report and Public Service
Act. Skills: Analytical, Innovative, Communication, Interpersonal Relations, Stress
Management, Project Management, Strategic Management and Financial
Management, General Management.
DUTIES : Review the effectiveness and efficiencies of risk management. governance and
control processes and make recommendations to improve operations. Monitor the
implementation and adherence to audit recommendations. Assurance of the
compliance policies, regulations and instructions according to the requirements of
the Auditor-General and the Public Finance Management Act. Conduct advocacy
campaign on audit functions to promote awareness on good Governance.
