Qualifications/ Requirements
Grade 8
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Road Marking and Traffic signs installation environment
Key Performance Areas Fabricates signs by using circular steel cutting machine, drill press, pop rivet gun, nuts, bolts and spanners
Excavates post hole by using crowbar, jackhammer, shovel and placing the sign pole and pin in concrete mix, and ensure that sign pole is plum to road level
Strap sign to existing street furniture by using a strapping machine and step ladder
Remove redundant or damaged signs and poles
Ensure safety of workers and road users on the roads by setting out cones and warning signs
Demarcates area to be painted by pulling a chalk line, and sets out road markings to be painted
Paints road markings e.g. centre lines, parking bays, islands using paint brush or road painting machine
Removes redundant road markings by operating a scrabbler or sandblaster
Cleans paintbrush, road painting machine, cones and paint containers by using road paint thinners and lubricants
Multi skilled to work with signs and painting and other duties when required in Sub-Unit
