Salary: R427 119.33 – R471 646.34 (DU)
Plus 10% scarce skills allowance (subject to certain conditions)

Qualifications/ Requirements
  BSc Degree/ B Tech Degree in Civil Engineering 
  5  years  relevant  experience,  of  which  2  years  must  be  at Management level
  Registered or eligible for Professional Registration
  Code B (08) drivers licence

Key Performance Areas
  Effective  and  efficient  utilisation,  management  and  control  of resources (Human, Finance and  Material)
  Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act, Water Services Act, MFMA and other relevant legislation
  Managing,  controlling  and  leading,  planning  and  implementation functions of the Water and Sanitation Unit
  Initiating  of  projects,  short  and  long  term  planning  of  Water  and Sanitation Services
  Producing  of  design  and  tender  documents  and  overseeing  the implementation of projects
  Undertaking  Tender  evaluations  and  making  recommendation  to relevant Committees
  Preparation  and  implementation  of  effective  5  year  capital  and operating budget including the monitoring of expenditure
  Dealing  with  other  departments,  spheres  of  government, consultants  and  customers  and  initiating  and  attending  various meetings
  Updating of Council bylaws and its enforcement
  Provide Technical and Engineering Support to the Operations sub unit on design and planning related matters
  Compilation  of  Bulk  Water  and  Sanitation  Master  Plans  and monitoring implementation therefore
  Completion and compilation of budget projections including targets for SDBIP’s and IDP
  Must  be  able  to  work  in  a  highly  stressful  and  unionized environment and be available to work after normal hours
