POST NO 2                 :           STATE ACCOUNTANT, REF NO: HRMC67/13/2 (2 POSITIONS)

SALARY LEVEL        :           A basic salary R170 799 to R201 195 per annum (Level 7).In addition, a range of competitive benefits are offered.

CENTRE                     :           Head Office, Pretoria, Directorate: Planning and Budgeting, Head Office, Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS     :           • An appropriate 3year Degree/Diploma in Accounting or an NQF level 6 equivalent is required with  1  years’ experience in budgeting or Grade 12 with 3 years’ experience in budgeting • Knowledge of estimating and budgeting processes • Knowledge of the Public Service Regulatory Framework • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations • Knowledge of Constitution of the Republic of South Africa • Understanding of relevant departmental legislation and prescripts. Overtime may be required • Problem solving skills • Planning and Organising skills • Time Management • Record Management • Computer Literacy. 

DUTIES:                                The successful candidate will be responsible for amongst others, the following
specific tasks:


                                                • Assist with planning and budgeting processes as well as preparation of budget working documents • Assist in the compilation and co-ordination of the MTEF document, Departmental chapter for Estimates of National Expenditure (ENE), departmental adjustment estimates including submissions regarding virement (Shifting of funds), roll over funds, as well as other correspondence • Assist in costing and monitoring of budgets and projects • Capturing of budget on Basic Accounting System and assist in maintaining of adjustments to budget allocations • Assist with the effective application of budget costing norm • Check requisitions for the availability of funds for procurement of goods and services for business units assigned • Assist with the re-allocation of funds and monitor movement of funds allocated within the budget after reprioritisation.
