A vacancy for the above post exists in the Human Settlements and Infrastructure Cluster, Electricity
Unit, Technical Support Department, Communication Networks Branch.
Qualifications Essential: Qualified Electrician who has served a recognised apprenticeship Pass a
proficiency test set by the department, to prove sufficient knowledge of radio, wireless and general
communication theory. Valid motor vehicle driver’s license (Code EB). Must be in possession of First Aid
Certificate or obtain one within 6 months of the date of appointment. Preferred: National N6 Diploma
from a Further Education and Training College registered with the Department of Education.
Experience Essential: 3 Years relevant experience
Preferred: 4 Years relevant experience
Duties Include: provide a higher and more complex level of support in the effective implementation,
testing, commissioning, de-commissioning, upgrading, maintenance and repair of the physical radio links
within the Technical Radio and Wireless Networks of eThekwini Electricity.
