A vacancy for the above post exists in the Procurement and Infrastructure Cluster, Electricity Unit,
Technical Support Department, Communication Networks Branch.
“Benefits included in the total value of remuneration package (Pension; 13th Cheque; Medical Aid;
Housing Subsidy and Car Allowance) are payable in accordance with the rules/ requirements of the
respective benefit schemes and any revisions that may occur from time to time which may alter the total
value of remuneration package. A non-pensionable Market Allowance may be payable in terms of the
Scarce Skills Policy.”
Qualifications Essential: Registration as a Professional Technologist (Electronic) with the Engineering
Council of South Africa (ECSA) OR B. Tech (Electronic) Degree from a Technicon or University of
Technology accredited by the Council on Higher Education and eligible for immediate registration as a
Professional Technologist with ECSA which is to be obtained within 18 months as a condition of
appointment. Pass a Proficiency test set by the department to prove sufficient knowledge of fibre
optics and general communication theory. Valid motor vehicle driver’s license (Code EB). Must be in
possession of a First Aid Certificate or obtain one within 6 months of the date of appointment.
