(Grade 11)
A vacancy for the above post exists in the Human Settlements and Infrastructure Cluster, Electricity
Unit, Technical Support Department, Communication Networks Branch.
“Benefits included in the total value of remuneration package (Pension; 13th Cheque; Medical Aid;
Housing Subsidy) are payable in accordance with the rules/ requirements of the respective benefit
schemes and any revisions that may occur from time to time which may alter the total value of
remuneration package. A non-pensionable Market Allowance may be payable in terms of the Scarce
Skills Policy.”
Qualifications Essential: Qualified Electrician who has served a recognised apprenticeship. Pass a
proficiency test set by the department, to prove sufficient knowledge of data networks and general
communication theory. Valid motor vehicle driver’s license (Code EB). Must be in possession of First Aid
Certificate or obtain one within 6 months of the date of appointment
Preferred: National N6 Diploma from a Further. Education and Training College. Registered with the
Department of Education.
Experience Essential: 3 Years relevant experience. Preferred: 4 Years relevant experience
Duties Include: to provide a higher and more complex level of support in the effective implementation,
testing, commissioning, de-commissioning, upgrading, maintenance and repair of the physical data links
within the Technical Data Networks of eThekwini Electricity.
