The role:
The Shaft Rock Engineer is responsible for providing the Shaft with
specialist Rock Engineering services and expertise that forms part of the MTS
department.
The work focus timeframe is one year to life of mine.
Demonstrated ability to perform in a Brownfields, Greenfields or JV's

Technical work responsibilities:

Mine
planning technical systems integrated and administrated

Technical
validity of planning, ensuring integration with other technical disciplines
(geology; survey; mining; ventilation, SHE)

of mine planning and scheduling

Mining
technology studies
·
Technical
Systems Implementation
·
Established
and maintained technical standards
·
Established
and maintained management information system
·
Conduct
numerical modelling for the design of support and other excavations
Core Work Outputs:
· Core work output of the role is to provide effective technical
support services to the shaft to support the achievement of accurate and
feasible rock engineering design and planning (within framework provided
Required abilities:
·
COM
Rock Mechanics Certificate [for Metalliferous Mines]
·
5
years experience in mining; rock engineering or strata control
·
Demonstrated
ability to meet technical and responsibility requirements of the legal
appointment.
·
Member
of professional body (SANIRE)
