DESCRIPTION
To support and assist the Project Quality Manager with the implementation of the project quality management system and VUP Discipline Engineers to achieve compliance to VUP requirements.
This position requires the incumbent to be mobile to travel to Venetia Mine on a regular basis. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
·         To action the Project Quality Management Plan and ensuring project quality requirements are implemented on all enquiries & contracts.
·         To assist package owners in planning, formulating and processing of enquiry package documents, utilizing information obtained from the project schedule, POP and Design Engineers.
·         Attend all bid clarification meetings.
·         Manage Quality, technical, Commercial & HSE Assessment of the short listed possible suppliers/contractors and provide feedback to stakeholders. 
·         Attend all bid adjudication scoring meetings.
·         Attend all package Inspection Kick-off meetings with the appointed Inspector.
·         Co-ordinate the QC process for all manufacturing inspections local to Southern Africa & Overseas and processing of resultant documentation.
·         When necessary, attend major/critical package Supplier/Contractor progress meetings, if necessary setting-up/chairing separate Quality Progress Meetings.
·         Monitor NCR, Corrective and Preventive Actions and provide feedback to PQM.
·         Assist with the implementation of the project quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001.
·         Assist when required with internal and external audits as per the approved project quality audit plan.
·         Follow-up & close-out of audit findings.
·         Preparing statistics for management review.
·         Identifying process improvements and preparing recommendations for project development and implementation.
·         Maintaining required Quality records by the Project.
·         Participate in reviews and workshops as required to promote the project quality objectives.
·         Provide advice and guidance to project personnel on the requirements of QMS standards, specifications and procedures applied.
·         Report on Key Responsibility Areas (KRA's) pertaining to the role profile, monitor and report on exception and overdue items.
·         Also any reasonable duties as required by the PQM in order to maintain and manage the project quality Management system for compliance to ISO 9001.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
·         Recognised Degree or Diploma in Quality Management
·         Minimum of 10 years project quality management experience, specifically in a mining environment.  
·         SANAS or IRCA registered Lead Auditor
·         An Engineering Tertiary Qualification would be an advantage

·         Detailed understanding and comprehension of project quality management principles

·         Competent Auditor of quality management systems
·         Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 Standard and associated documents including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
·         Ability to evaluate statistics, recognize trends and recommend actions for improvement
·         Knowledge of engineering and mining standards and specifications
